For controlling fish diseases caused by fish lice and anchor worm, start with new water or a large water change (at least 25%, more is better) using Ultimate® or a combination of Liquid Buffered ClorAm-X® and Stress-X™ to remove ammonia, chlorine, and chloramines. Next, remove carbon filtration and UV sterilization, and stop form-fractionation (“protein skimming”) to prevent removing the CyroPro™ active ingredient. Do not stop other filtration methods.
Shake CyroPro™ vigorously and add one (1) teaspoon (~5 mL) per 50 gallons (189 L) of water, or 1 fl. oz. (~29.5 mL) per 300 gallons (1,135 L). Distribute CyroPro™ evenly around the pond or aquarium perimeter to ensure quick, complete mixing. Adding CyroPro™ through the filter where there is agitation works well.
Repeat the treatment every seven (7) days for at least twenty-one (21) consecutive days. If interrupted, the treatment must be restarted for best results. Perform a water change before each retreatment or addition of CyroPro™ to refresh dissolved oxygen, remove pollutants and nutrients that support disease-causing organisms, and reduce water-borne pathogens. After completing the treatment period, fresh activated carbon can be returned to the filter, and all other systems can be restarted. (Refer to the Product Data Sheet linked below.)
DO NOT OVERDOSE – calculate the actual water volume by multiplying length × width × height and dividing by 238 to get gallons. Also, subtract the volume taken up by substrate (gravel, sand, etc.), rocks, decorations, or other objects.
Compatibilities: CyroPro™ is safe for all fish, reptiles (e.g., turtles), amphibians (e.g., tadpoles and frogs), and mollusks (e.g., snails) in ornamental ponds or aquariums. Do NOT use where crayfish or other crustaceans are cultured.
NOTE: We do not recommend using sulfur- or sulfinite-based water conditioners with this product. If your water conditioner does not list its ingredients, verify with the manufacturer that it does not contain these substances. If you detect a rotten egg smell from the product, it likely contains these ingredients and should be avoided, as this can reduce effectiveness and lower dissolved oxygen levels.
