Hikari Ich-X^® utilizes the most widely respected formulation for the treatment of ich, using a less toxic form of malachite green, which makes it less taxing on biological action and safe for scaleless and sensitive fish like Corydoras.

For Aquarium: To treat “ich” disease (ichthyophthiriasis) in freshwater fish and “marine ich” disease (cryptocaryonaisis) in marine fish, add one (1) teaspoon (~5 mL) of Ich-X® to 10 gallons (38 L) of aquarium water.

For Pond: To treat “ich” disease (ichthyophthiriasis) in pond and freshwater fish, add one (1) teaspoonful (~5 mL) of Pond Solution® Ich-X® to 50 gallons (189 L) of pond or aquarium water. One (1) ounce (29 mL) treats 300 gallons (1,135 L).

For Best Results, Follow These Instructions from Our Experts:

• Always treat fish in a separate quarantine or treatment tank.
• Remove any activated carbon from filters. Rinse or replace mechanical filter media if needed. Do not stop filtration completely, as this can harm your nitrogen cycle.
• Make at least a 1/3 water change before each dose of Ich-X®, using a sulfate-free water conditioner like Ultimate® by Aquarium Solutions®. Daily water changes can speed up treatment.
• Repeat treatments every 24 hours, or as often as every 8 hours depending on the disease severity (refer to the Product Data Sheets linked below).
• Continue treatment for three (3) days after all visible signs of disease disappear.

DO NOT OVERDOSE – Calculate your tank’s exact water volume by multiplying length × width × height and dividing by 231 to find gallons. Deduct the volume taken up by substrate (gravel, sand), rocks, decorations, or anything else displacing water.

DO NOT ALLOW TO FREEZE – If you see green crystals under the bottle seal or clumps in the product, it has frozen and should not be used. Freezing can make the active ingredient lethal to fish.

NOTE: We do not recommend using sulfur- or sulfite-based water conditioners with this product. If your usual water conditioner doesn’t list ingredients, confirm with the manufacturer that it doesn’t contain these substances. If you notice a rotten egg smell in the product, it likely contains these ingredients and should be avoided, as it may reduce the product’s effectiveness and lower dissolved oxygen levels.
