Aquascaping refers to designing aquarium landscapes. It involves creating plant arrangements, recreations of land above water, or natural biotopes. An aquascaping aquarium typically contains few or no fish and invertebrates. This reduces the nutrient supply for the plants and limits their growth. Nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and other minerals become scarce and need to be carefully and precisely re-dosed. Volcanic rock
